About Capital Area United Way

Our Vision: A community where everyone is empowered to achieve their full potential

Mission Statement: To improve lives by leveraging partnerships in our community to advance the common good through education, income stability, and healthy living

Capital Area United Way is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization working to advance the common good to create opportunities for a better life for all. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, and when people have good health.

Our work focuses on three building blocks for a better life: education, income, and health.

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems in these areas.

We invite you to LIVE UNITED and be a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can own its own.

In 2009, Volunteer! United became a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital Area United Way.

Over the years, Capital Area United Way recognized that donor needs have changed - they are looking for and wanting hands on and personal connections to the organizations in which they give to. Through volunteering, Volunteer! United has and continues to help our donors see where their money is going firsthand and help fulfill Capital Area United Way's mission of Helping People - Improving Communities.
