What are Major Gifts?
- A higher level of giving that starts at $1,000 annually.
- Capital Area United Way has two levels of Major Gifts, the Gottlieb Association and the Tocqueville Society.
Who gives at the Major Gifts level?
- They are people just like you who recognize the growing needs in our community and choose to help improve the quality of life for everyone in the 10-parish area.
- Major Gifts are the fastest growing segment of the Capital Area United Way campaign.
- In the mid-80s fewer than 20 individuals were identified as Major Givers, and today there are more than 1,400.
What is the difference in the two levels of Major Gifts?
Gottlieb Association
- Membership of the Gottlieb Association starts at $1,000 and continues through $9,999.
- Capital Area United Way has more than 1,400 Gottlieb Association members.
- Within the Gottlieb Association, there are four levels:
| Platinum Level | $7,500 | - | $9,999 |
| Gold Level | $5,000 | - | $7,499 |
| Silver Level | $2,500 | - | $4,999 |
| Bronze Level | $1,000 | - | $2,499 |
Tocqueville Society
- Membership in the Tocqueville Society starts at $10,000 and is United Way’s pre-eminent giving society.
- Capital Area United Way has approximately 83 Tocqueville members.
- The levels within the Tocqueville Society are:
