A volunteer United Way Board of Directors, elected at an annual meeting open to all contributors, determines the policies and procedures of the organization. The Campaign Division, Community Partnership Division, Finance and Administration Division, and Marketing and Communications Division make recommendations to the board in their areas of expertise.
Although a small full-time staff is employed, most organizational functions are accomplished by hundreds of United Way volunteers. Because of this volunteer involvement, administrative and fundraising costs are kept impressively low.
Capital Area United Way also works with a number of outside community partners to help us broaden our scoop of helping out our community.
