Marketing and Communications Volunteers
Communication is the key to reaching thousands of potential donors and educating them about United Way funded agencies. Marketing and Communications volunteers work with the Marketing and Communications staff to design and execute a successful message that creates a direct link between the donor and the recipient of services. The successful message is communicated to the media, donors, and the general public. The Marketing and Communications volunteers are experts in the areas of public relations, advertising, broadcast/print media and other related fields. Each volunteer works closely with the Marketing and Communications staff to help develop goals and strategies and determine outcomes in their areas of expertise.
Finance Volunteers
Each year, Capital Area United Way goes out into the community raising dollars for those in need. Donors trust that United Way is a good steward of their dollar. A group of volunteers that make up the Finance Committee at Capital Area United Way make sure United Way administrative costs are kept very low and millions of donor dollars are sent straight to CAUW member agencies.
Finance volunteers work with finance staff to make sure that internally Capital Area United Way is using donor dollars effectively and efficiently. These volunteers develop and recommend financial policy for Capital Area United Way and act on Finance related assignments as directed by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors.
